Maybe it’s the racing heart or the tight chest. Maybe it’s the endless what ifs. What if I lose my job? What if I’m in the wrong relationship? What if my kids get sick? You settle one worry, and anxiety finds another. If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken, and you’re not alone.
I see anxiety as your body’s alarm system. It’s going off because a part of you is trying to get your attention. Often that part is carrying something from much earlier, which is why the past can feel like it’s happening now. The worries are rarely the root. The root is a felt sense, a bodily feeling that comes from a deeper, younger place.
You are not your anxiety. It’s a part of you, and when we meet it with curiosity instead of trying to get rid of it, there’s room to grow. Together we can slow things down and look at what’s underneath, rather than chasing one worry after another.
